Our Mission
Our mission is to provide the Hispanic community with education and information to successfully integrate themselves into the Commonwealth of Virginia. We accomplish this through scholarships for economically disadvantaged Hispanic students; legal assistance for immigration, work related cases and tenant disputes; coordinating food banks around Virginia; and involving the community to prevent and stop gang violence in Virginia's public schools.
Community Impact
- Since 2000, the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's Foundation (VAHCCF) has opened the First bilingual business information center in the USA (SBA).
- During 2003-2006, the VAHCCF has helped to start over 6,000 businesses in Virginia.
- The VAHCCF has successfully lobbied for the executive order 33, mandating state agencies to employ 20% minorities.
- Also, the VAHCCF successfully lobbied to recognize Latinos and Asians as Virginian minorities. In 2009, the VAHCCF formed the first Latino Complete Count Committee in the United States of America.
