Rita Willis - Education Consultant & Event Planner

Rita H. Willis was born and reared in Dinwiddie, Virginia, on a farm. Upon completing high school, she did her undergraduate and graduate studies at Virginia State University, in Petersburg, Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, University of Virginia in Charlottesville,Virginia and The University of Madrid, in Spain.

Upon completing her formal education, Rita began a life long career of thirty three (33) years as a Spanish teacher at Huguenot High School and Richmond Community High School for the Gifted and Talented, respectively.

Because the field of Education was and is a major part of Rita’s existence, she began her own business (SeñoRita, LLC) as an Education Consultant and Event Planner.

Rita joined the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce team, as a Consultant in September of 2007.  She works with Membership, Events, and she brings Educational programs and opportunities to the Chamber that can be incorporated them into the goals and objectives of the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Rita enjoys educating Hispanics on what programs and opportunities are available to them.  As language is not a barrier for Señorita, she engages herself in many of the activities of, for and on behalf of the Latino community. As she puts it, "I want to be a part of the solution – not the problem.  They are our new citizens, and I am a part of the welcome committee, as we work diligently to help them assimilate into their new surroundings.”
