¿Qué Pasa? Festival of Virginia at the Science Museum of Virginia, in Richmond.
TO: Perspective Sponsors of the Que Pasa Festival, Information Booth Seekers, Non-Profit Booth Seekers, Arts and Craft Vendors, Food Vendors
The Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is holding its 6th annual ¿Qué Pasa?Festival on Saturday, September 15, 2007 from 12:00 pm to 8:00pm along with our Title Sponsor, State Farm. We are very excited this year, because the Festival is reaching a new level with its new location – The Science Museum of Virginia.
The ¿Qué Pasa? Festival is held in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month. (September 15 – October 15) The Hispanic culture will be celebrated through music, food, arts, crafts and dance. The Festival includes: headliner musical talent; folkloric dancing performances; arts and activities; authentic food vendors showcasing various types of Hispanic foods from several regions; a kid’s area and much more. Last year, we had over 10,000 attendees, and this year we are expecting over 13,000.
An added feature to the Que Pasa Festival is our Educational Focus. Local private and public high school advance Spanish students will be conducting tours of the Science Museum’s Galleries in both Spanish and English. This is a great opportunity to educate those persons who are visiting the museum for the first time, and it is a wonderful opportunity for our high school students to use their Spanish that they have been studying. It is definitely a “win win” situation for students, families and their young children, visitors and friends alike. After all, “It’s a Family Affair.”
