(Vienna, Va.) May 25th, 2011 - "Credibility is the foundation to success," said Nina Vaca-Humrichouse to the packed house at the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (VAHCC) Tysons Corner event last Wednesday. Vaca-Humrichouse, CEO of Pinnacle Technical Resources and Chair of the Board of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, shared her story of success and credibility with advice for Hispanic women business leaders and their supporters. "The Impact and Value of Hispanic Businesswomen" was attended by national business leaders and state political figures, offering expertise in today's hot topics for business. Concurrent roundtable discussions on diverse topics relevant to Hispanic business ownership preceded Vaca-Humrichouse's speech, as well as information on the 2010 US Census data, with a focus on regional Hispanic growth provided by Angeles Ortega-Moore, Senior Partnership Specialist of the US Census Bureau from Charlotte, North Carolina. According to recent Census data, the Hispanic population in Virginia has grown 91.7 percent since 2000.
"We at the VAHCC were very pleased with the outcome of this event," said Mary Sirvent, Vice-President of Development at the VAHCC's Northern Virginia office. "The attendees have walked away with a new edge on reaching the Hispanic market, new connections, and insight on how to succeed as a Hispanic business woman." The VAHCC is expanding its Northern Virginia presence with the efforts of Sirvent and her team of Latin American businesspeople. "We definitely expect to host more events like this in the near future. Every month, we are already hosting our 'Bridges for Business' networking luncheon at our Tysons Corner office. All businesspeople are welcome, not just Hispanics," said Sirvent.
The VAHCC has been a state-wide organization for over 11 years, with central offices in Richmond and a regional office in Tysons Corner, Vienna. Information on upcoming events and business opportunities can be found at VAHCC.com, or by calling (703) 790-0303 in Vienna or (804) 378-4099 in Richmond.
