outreach programs throughout Virginia in
collaboration with diverse organizations. VAHCC
has joined together in a common mission and
interest with the following organizations.
National Capital Minority Business Opportunity
Committee
The Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is one
of four independent organizations -- and the
only one from Virginia -- that comprise an
exciting team currently providing an array of
programs and services to small and minority
businesses in the Greater Washington
Metropolitan Area. This team, the National
Capital Minority Business Opportunity Committee
(NCMBOC),
has joined forces and resources; as one of four
partners, with the U.S. Department of Commerce's
Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) to
help minority businesses in the region gain
access to markets, capital and assistance, as
well as vast federal, state, and corporate
procurement sources.

Small Business Administration
The VAHCC and it’s foundation, in partnership
with the Small Business Administration, support
small business development by offering business
information through books, computer software,
Internet access, online courses, training
seminars, and one-to-one counseling sessions
with an SBA business information specialist at
VAHCC locations. (See
schedule of programs). Individuals can
develop a business plan and learn essential
skills to open a new or grow an existing
business.

Innovative Bank
The Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is now
processing signature loans through a partnership
with Innovative Bank and the SBA. These loans
offer qualified small business owners rapid
approvals on a $5,000 - $15,000 or a $6,000 -
$16,000 loan. Some of the terms include a 7-year
repayment period, no prepayment penalty, minimal
paperwork, and bank-paid technical assistance on
an as-needed basis.

Fairfax County Economic Development Authority
(FCEDA) promotes Fairfax County, Virginia, as a
world-class center of commerce and trade and the
technology hub of the east coast. The FCEDA
provides a wide array of information and free
services designed to help American and
international businesses locate or expand
commercial operations in Fairfax County.

The U.S. General Services Administration's
National Capital Region (GSA/NCR) has
announced a new Hispanic initiative that focuses
on recruiting and employment opportunities,
cultural awareness in the workplace, and access
to federal contracting for Hispanic Americans.
This initiative developed in concert with the
Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (VAHCC) is
the first of its kind for GSA/NCR.

The Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has
partnered with Richmond.com to develop and
present a Spanish language on-line channel,
www.ahora.richmond.com, dedicated to the
Hispanic community. Ahora.com’s prime focus is
to be the source for information by reaching and
developing the on-line voice of the Hispanic
community. The channel will feature news
articles, events, opinion polls, promotions,
employment opportunities and advertisements in
Spanish that directly relate and speak to the
Hispanic community. See

Spanish Academy & Cultural Institute
The VAHCC also partners with the
Spanish Academy
& Cultural Institute to help individuals and
businesses begin and continue a journey into the
Spanish language and Hispanic culture by
offering language and cultural training courses.
Courses can be designed to meet the needs of
specific industries or clients. Chamber members
and sponsors receive discounts on corporate
